It is really amazing the way we always like to leave things till the last minute in Nigeria. I remember last year when it was the new driver's license issue then as well, as the deadline approached the huge turnout of people was really massive.
So also the period when we were all asked to register our sim cards by the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, about 2 years ago.
This time around, it is the case of the Bank Verification Number enrollment, BVN, which has actually been on since last year.
Now, with a few days to the deadline which is the 30th of June, huge crowds now besiege banks to enroll. According to reports, this might also be because bank accounts will allegedly be frozen after the deadline.
It is so bad that from as early as 6am, customers are already waiting outside the banks to enroll and get their BVN.
I think its about time we all spoke to ourselves and inculcate the habit of doing what we have to do at the right time and not wait until a deadline looms.
You are right just like our African time mentality! I luv your blog very refreshing!
