With the heavy rains in recent times and the resulting floods in some places, the Lagos State Government has provided a toll free phone line for residents to report any outbreak of flooding in their respective areas.
This was made known in a statement by Ayodeji Adenekan, the Permanent Secretary, Office of Drainage Services who said that this is to ensure that cases of flooding were nipped in the bud.
The 08099183777 is strictly for “Short Message Service (SMS) and WHATSAPP for Lagosians to notify the state government whenever they notice flood related issues in their streets, neighborhood and highways.
Meanwhile, he said the government has embarked on its mid-rain de-flooding programme, which involves dredging, de-silting, clearing and cleaning of drainage channels/canals across the state.
