INEC Chairman, Atahiru Jega To Vacate Office Next Week After 5 Yr Tenure

After successfully conducting the best most free and fair election in Nigeria and the expiration of his 5 year tenure, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Attahiru Jega, is set to vacate office next week.

This was made known in a statement issued by the Public Affairs Department of INEC that Jega is to bow out of office with 6 National Commissioners.

They were all appointed on the same day by former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2010

Peronally, I will kinda miss him especially with the way and manner he kept us all in suspense at the just concluded elections with the hashtag #NigeriaDecides.

He practically redefined the meaning of the word cool and a lot of memes came up from his attitude and reaction through it all.

I wish him all the best with his future endeavours!
