Clash Of The Titans? Veteran Filmmaker, Wale Adenuga Rejects Emeka Ike's Claim Of Starting Nollywood

Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike has made the claim several times that he started what is now known as Nollywood since 1992

However, veteran filmmaker Wale Adenuga says that cannot be true as movies started long before this. He gave an instance of Oga Bello's Omo Orukan which was made in the 80's as well as his own first film which was in 1983.

According to reports from Encomium, Wale Adenuga went on to say that young men and women have taken over Nollywood and sent veteran actors into forced retirement with some of them now living in abject poverty due to inactivity.

For him, Nollywood actually started in the 50's with the likes of the late Hubert Ogunde and because of this, Wale Adenuga insists he cannot be part of a Nollywood started by Emeka Ike because he was making films before he was even born.
