The news of Christians being persecuted for their faith is definitely on the rise on recent times and yes it is in the Bible that in the last days this will happen but it still doesn't take away from the sorrow when it does.
Yesterday's incident at the Emmanuel AME Church, Charleston, South Carolina is indeed very unfortunate and I can't even comprehend the pain that the families of the 9 people killed by 21 year old Dylan Roof will be going through right now.
Although he is now in police custody, does this bring back the dead people and the families he has left bereft? Looking at his face one can tell that there is no remorse of any kind and my question is why did the police even give him a bullet proof vest to wear?
Some of the people he killed are Reverend Sharonda Singleton, a mother-of-three and a track coach, Tywanza Sanders, who graduated from Allen University last year, Reverend Clementa Pinckney, pastor of the church and a South Carolina state senator, and Cynthia Hurd, who had worked for Charleston libraries for 30 years.
May their souls rest in peace and may God grant their families the fortitude to bear this huge loss.
