So many people have been blamed for this persisting fuel scarcity and the latest are the banks. This accusation is coming from owners of fuel depots under the aegis of Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association (DAPPMA).
They are allegedly blaming the current fuel crisis on banks and the regulations issued by the Central of Bank of Nigeria (CBN), which imposed credit ceilings on fuel importers.
They are also stressing the need for the administration of Muhammadu Buhari to remove fuel subsidy saying that the subsidy scheme only benefits foreign refineries where the petroleum products consumed locally in Nigeria are being sourced.
According to a statement issued yesterday, the Executive Secretary of DAPPMA, Olufemi Adewole, confirmed that this is the first time since the introduction of the subsidy scheme that marketers will not have ready and easy access to fuel import loans.
Abeg, they should stop pointing all these accusing fingers and settle this fuel scarcity matter once and for all.....it hasn't been funny these past weeks.
