Low And Unimpressive Turnout At Lagos State Carnival

Unlike the Calabar Carnival that usually boasts of a huge crowd, there was a poor turnout of people at the 2015 Lagos Carnival held yesterday.

According to reports from News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, dignitaries and fun seekers at the event expressed disappointment that in spite of the publicity, the turnout was unimpressive.

The carnival held at the historical Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) on the island. People that attended also complained at the lateness in starting the carnival which might be attributed to the scarcity of fuel in the state and also the traffic gridlock.

Also expressing his disappointment was Oba Owolabi Adeniyi, the traditional ruler of Igbobi-Sabe in Yaba who said he had been at the venue since 10 am but the carnival did not start until after 1 pm.
