Is The Ongoing Fuel Scarcity A Ploy To Remove Fuel Subsidy? NLC Thinks So!

Its been almost 2 weeks now since the fuel scarcity hit us big time in Lagos and there have been conflicting reports as to the cause of the scarcity.

However reports from Daily Post indicate that the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, is insinuating that it is all a ploy and a conspiracy for removal of fuel subsidy which continues to be a major issue thus far.

Meanwhile, there continues to be a disagreement between the Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and oil marketers over the actual subsidy amount points to be paid to them.

In a statement by its President, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, they expressed their worry at the sustained scarcity in almost all parts of the country without any successful intervention by the government.

They however made it clear that they remain opposed to the removal of petroleum subsidy and urges the government to pay the marketers so the long queues can end.
