Come May 29 and power will change hands in Nigeria. For Lagosians, Akinwunmi Ambode takes over the helm of affairs as governor and his wife, Bolanle Akinwunmi Ambode will automatically become the first lady of Lagos State.
If you are wondering exactly who she is, this is a brief description of the next 1st Lady of Lagos state who will be taking over from Dame Abimbola Fashola.
Mrs Bolanle Akinwunmi Ambode was born into the Odukomaiya family in Epe, on the 15th of February, 1964. She attended St. Theresa’s College, Ibadan, Oyo State, before gaining admission into Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo to study Physics and graduated in 1989. She later had her Masters degree (MSc) in Public Administration in 1994.
She had worked in different organisations before she finally finding love in the kitchen. She then travelled to Israel to attend short courses in Bakery Technology. She returned shortly and started her bakery business called, Rehoboth Chops and Confectioneries Limited, based in Ogba.
Bolanle Ambode met the Governor-elect during her days in LASU and they got married in 1991. The marriage is blessed with twins, a boy and a girl.
So far, she has been involved in a lot of charity work as she is known for being a cheerful giver who donates endlessly especially to motherless babies homes.
I guess by the time her husband is sworn in, we will definitely get to know more about her.
