As the May 29th handover date approaches, the APC has revealed its zoning arrangement for key federal legislative and executive positions.

According to the Daily Post, the next House of Representatives Speaker will come from the South-West. The office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation will be the South-east which ends speculations that Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, may occupy the seat.

Meanwhile, the Senate presidency is still zoned to theNorth-central where the incumbent, David Mark, hails from (Benue State).

However, the office of Deputy Senate President is zoned to North-east while Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives to the South-south.

Furthermore, the position of Majority Leader of the Senate is zoned to South-west, while Majority Leader of the House of Representatives goes to North-East.

Deputy Majority Leader of the Senate is zoned to North-west, and Deputy Majority Leader of the House of Representatives goes to North-Central.

The post of Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives is zoned to South-East.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees of APC is zoned to North-East, while South-east will produce the BoT Secretary.

The posts of national chairman and national secretary of APC remain in the South-South and North-East.

With this arrangement, the zoning arrangement  has now confirmed that the race is now between Senators Bukola Saraki (Kwara) and George Akume (Benue).

Similarly, zoning of the Speaker of the House of Representatives to the South-West makes it a straight contest between APC caucus leader, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila (Lagos) and Hon. Sola Adeyeye (Osun).
