Barely A Day After Apple Launches Smart Watch, Chinese Fakes Flood E-commerce Sites

Barely a few hours after Apple unveiled their new mega Watch, knock off versions are already available in China!

While the real Apple Watch doesn't go on sale officially until April, the clones are being sold nationwide via popular e-commerce websites. They cost between $40 to $80 while the original Apple watch is $349.

Speaking on this development, Laurent Le Pen, the founder and CEO of smartwatch maker Omate, says the speed at which China brings copies on the market is amazing.

He said this first few copycat watches will be rough imitations, but with time, they will get closer and closer to the real thing and in the end, you sometimes need to be an expert to tell the difference between real and fake.

Meanwhile the original Apple Watch can do a lot of things like help you check into a hotel, check your heart rate, help you call a Uber taxi, remind you of an appointment and much more.
