WAIT!!!! You might want to have a rethink before putting that phone in your pocket so it doesn't explode on you.
According to reports from CNN, a man, Erik Johnson, says his smartphone blew up in his pocket and that he wound up in a hospital.
Erik explained that his iPhone 5C spontaneously erupted in extreme heat while it was in his pants pocket, giving him second and third-degree burns on his leg the size of a football.
While on his way for an event, he dropped his car keys and bent down to pick them up when he heard a pop and a sizzling which prompted him to rip his pants off to stop his phone from burning him as his phone began to melt the edges of his pocket.
Luckily for him, his brother quickly drove him to Bayonne Medical Center in New Jersey from where he was later taken to Burn Center at Staten Island University Hospital. The Burn Center confirmed to CNN that he spent 10 days there receiving treatment.
