Since I watched the movie, Splash many years ago, I have actually believed that mermaids exist. So also growing up and hearing about spiritual confessions of people that claim there is another life under water has also added to that belief.
The Disney movie about Ariel the mermaid has also caught on fast with so many children giving them a good impression about mermaids.
However, for some people in the US, the appeal of a mermaid is clearly much stronger. This has led to an annual Merfest convention in North Carolina where over 300 men and women come together to celebrate being mermaids!
At the event, there is a professional mermaid and environmental activist who teaches people on underwater modelling and how to hold their breath. The event sees some diehard mermaid fans who call themselves merfolk spendinf as much as 4 Thousand Dollars on colorful fake tails that look and feel like real fish scales.
There is also a mertender who helps them put on these tails as it requires a lot of effort.
Ok you can close your mouth now .....Lol. How about applying to be a mertender?
