There have been reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, plans to use card readers on election day.
This development has been met with opposition and to prove that they mean it, INEC invited journalists yesterday in Enugu, to showcase the good working condition of the card readers.
Unfortunately, the exercise failed as the card reading machine could not work for over 30 minutes, a situation that left the audience embarrassed.
According to Daily Post, the PVC of one of the journalists was inserted, after which that of a member of the Civil Society Organization was equally tried, but both failed the test.
However, it remains to be seen if the card readers will eventually be used for the elections.
