Indian Couple Make Their Pet Monkey Sole Heir To Thousands Of Dollars

Wonders will indeed never cease as a monkey in India is set to inherit thousands of dollars from its owners. An Indian couple, Brijesh Srivastava and his wife Shabista have no children and have adopted their monkey, Chunmun as the sole heir of their property.

They have gone as far as issuing a will legally naming him as their only 'child', should he outlive his owners.

Shabista told CNN that he bought Chunmun, then just a month old, from a roadside artist in 2005 after seeing the owner beat the animal with a stick.

She said they take care of their monkey like a son by feeding him a diet of milk, dry nuts and fruits in the morning, and home-cooked food at night.

They have even gone as far as having Chunmun "marry" another monkey, Bitty, and gave the pets their own room with air conditioning.
