CAF Fines Morocco Millions Of Dollars For Refusing To Host AFCON 2015

Morocco has been fined 1 Million Dollars and banned from competing in the next 2 editions of the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.

According to the Confederation of African Football, CAF, this is for refusing to host the 2015 AFCON tournament. Equatorial Guinea replaced the North African country as hosts, after they pulled out citing fears over the Ebola outbreak.

However, CAF dismissed the reason of their late withdrawal and ordered them to pay the 1 Million Dollar fine and an extra 8 Million Euros as compensation for material damage.

Meanwhile the hosts, Equatorial Guinea have also been fined 1 Hundred Thousand Dollars for the crowd trouble during their semi-final defeat to Ghana.

Police had to use batons and tear gas, to chase out the home supporters, after Ghana went 3 goals up in the second half. and the game had to be delayed for 30 minutes.

Hmnnnn....this is really a serious matter!
