Almost 2 weeks after the Federal Government reduced the price of fuel from 97 to 87 Naira, petrol marketers are complaining at a huge loss in revenue for them and are demanding a refund from the government.
According to reports from This Day newspaper, they had meeting with the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) in Abuja over the enormous loss they have incurred with this directive.
The marketers stated that the announcement by the federal government came as a surprise to them as they had no prior knowledge of a planned reduction in fuel pump price.
Meanwhile, the Zonal Controller of Operation DPR, Mohammed Usman, stated at the meeting that there will also be an upward review of licence fees being paid by filling station owners as it was the lowest paid by all business enterprises operating in Nigeria.
