The All Progressives Congress, APC has finally cleared 12 aspirants to contest the governorship primaries in Lagos State.
They were certified in Ikoyi for the party’s primaries, which was rescheduled 2 weeks ago to the 4th of December following the guideline for the process the party had formally released.
Those cleared by the party include Obafemi Hamzat, Ganiyu Solomon, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, Akinwunmi Ambode, Leke Pitan, Tayo Ayinde, Olasupo Shasore, Tola Kasali and Adetokuno Wahab among other aspirants.
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Obafemi Hamzat has cancelled the formal declaration of his governorship aspiration which was meant to have held this week.
There have been indications that Governor Fashola supports Olasupo Shasore but according to alleged reports, Akinwunmi Ambode remains the front runner of the primaries as he has built a strong grassroots support base,connected with different professional groups in the state and elicited massive support from the youths, tradesmen and artisans in all parts of the state.
