Internet Slangs Every Parent Should Know

Acronyms and slangs are widely popular across the Internet, especially on social media and texting apps, because they offer a shorthand for communication that is meant to be instant.

Last week while I was relieving a colleague on radio, I brought up the issue of using acronyms and slangs in our day to day conversation especially via social media and our chatting mediums like, BBM, Whatsapp etc and so many people had a lot to say about it.

It was indeed amazing to find out some slangs like GBURG which stands for God Bless You Real Good, NVM:Nevermind, TTYL:Talk To You Later, WYCM:Will You Call Me, LMK:Let Me Know etc.

However, did you think it was only adults that use such acronyms? Heck no!!! Children now use these internet slangs and acronyms as well and parents need to know the meaning of a whole lot of them.

Did you know that IWSN stands for I Want Sex Now? well if it makes you feel better so many parents didn't know that as well and it is very popular among teenagers!
