As the year is gradually winding down, another airplane has gone missing!
AirAsia flight QZ8501 lost contact with air traffic control this morning en route to Singapore with 155 passengers and 7 crew on board.
According to an AirAsia official, the plane had requested an unusual route before air traffic control lost contact with them over the Java Sea. However, an Indonesia Transport Ministry spokesperson later clarified that the pilot’s request was a permission to change altitude due to bad weather.
Search and rescue operations are currently in progress and my prayer is that they will be found.
Recall that earlier in March a Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 lost contact with air traffic control and was never found.
