Serious Opposition Against Bishop David Oyedepo Opening A School In The UK

Bishop David Oyedepo's church, Winners Chapel International has set up schools in Nigeria from a secondary school (Faith Academy), to 2 universities(Covenant and Landmark) that have made positive raves over here.

However, steps by the church to set up a school in Kent ,England is facing serious opposition as human rights campaigners and the National Secular Society (NSS) are urging the government to prevent that from happening.

Reports from the BBC state that the church wants to open the school which is named “Kingdom Heritage Model School” for children between the ages of 4 and 7 in the church's  European headquarters in Dartford.

But these groups are raising opposition because of concerns that the church has been accused of linking poor discipline and child disobedience to witchcraft. There are fears that child abuse related to purported witchcraft could be encouraged by the school’s  presence.

The groups say the authorities should not allow organisations that believe in witchcraft and are associated with witch-hunting open in the UK, asides this, the Charity Commission is currently investigating the church’s charity over concerns about financial management and conflicts of interest.
