The drama leading up to the 2015 elections continues to increase in its strange magnitude as there are reports that no fewer than 1,000 PDP members have defected to the APC in Ogun state.
There are indications that they were supporters of the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo and were led by his strong ally and a one-time national treasurer of the party, Bode Mustapha.
In a twist of events, the defecting PDP members have warned the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba against causing a war in the country following his removal of the security details of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal.
Mustapha served as a member of the House of Representatives between 1999 and 2003 and had initially submitted his form of intent for the Ogun Central Senatorial seat.
He led other prominent members of the PDP, including the former Chairman of Abeokuta North, Sunday Akintona to move over to the APC.
