Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, who recently defected from the PDP to the APC, has suspended his plans to contest for the presidential election. According to him, he doesn't want to upset already set political arrangements and also his sudden change of plans is based upon the counsel of party elders.
Initially, 80 members of the House of Representatives had purchased the expression of interest and nomination forms for him to contest the presidential election.
However, Aminu Tambuwal made an official confirmation yesterday announcing that he won't be vying for the presidential position anymore. There are indications though that he plans to contest in his native Sokoto State for the position of governor.
He went on to pledge his loyalty to the APC and promised to co-operate with those already in the race for the APC presidential ticket.
