Wonders will indeed never cease as a man punched his friend to death for 'Poking' his girlfriend on Facebook .
The
fight broke out when 27 year old Scott Humphrey, accused his friend 29 year old
Richard Rovetto of contacting his girlfriend when he 'poked' her on
Facebook.
Sending someone a virtual 'Poke' on the social networking site is often seen as a way of flirting with them.
According to reports, Humphrey struck Rovetto who is a father of one, causing him to bleed from the nose, before delivering another blow which knocked his friend to the floor causing him to bang his head on the pavement. Unfortunately, Rovetto, suffered severe head injuries and died in hospital hours later.
Scott Humphrey has now been jailed for four years and four months and according to the judge when sentencing him, he said he was sure Humphrey didn't plan to kill his friend.
