Gombe state has announced the screening of 3,000 applicants for the second batch of a Mass wedding in the state. This comes after marrying out 720 couples across the State in April this year.
The Publicity Secretary of the Committee On Mass Wedding and Senior District Head of Gombe, Abdulkadir Abubakar, made this known in an interview with the News Agency in Gombe.
According to him, the participants will go through screening for pregnancy, HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis, among other cases.
Abubakar also commended the state government for introducing the programme, which is meant to assist the less privileged to get married. He said successful applicants would be provided with dowry, foodstuff, clothing, furniture and kitchen utensils before marriage.
Like seriously my mouth is still open in shock at this but I wish them well though.
