For the first time in history, a Nigerian University has been ranked 20th in Africa.
University of Ilorin, UNILORIN got this reputable position as announced by the Vice Chancellor, Abdulganiyu Ambali at the institution’s 30th Convocation Lecture.
The university was also ranked among the best 2,000 universities in the world coming in at number 1,842 considering the fact that 11,307 colleges and universities are sampled in the ranking in 200 countries on the 2014 University Web Ranking which was conducted by International Colleges and Universities.
This comes after UNILORIN became the most preferred university in Nigeria this year with over 105,000 applicants.
Professor Ambali however said they are not resting on their oars as the school aims to be ranked within the first 200 in the world.
