If you drive the streets of Lagos and your drivers license is expired or you
are just avoiding the rigorous steps in getting a new one,I would advice you
have a re-think.This is because if you are caught without a valid drivers license you just
might be facing jail terms(I kid you not!)
A certain driver identified as Ekeh Chukwuemeka, was yesterday convicted by
Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for driving with an expired license
and was sentenced to two weeks imprisonment.
However, the Magistrate,
Mrs A.S.Odusanya, who delivered the judgment, gave him an option of N5, 000 fine
and ordered him to renew his license immediately.
Earlier this year when I went to renew mine,it took me like 3 months with hard labour(Lol),but on a serious note it wasn't an enjoyable experience but at the end of the day(13 wks precisely),I got it.
You might be lucky though and get it done faster....whatever the case though,PLS GET IT DONE!!!
Furthermore,according to the FRSC, the upgraded Nigerian driver’s licence is recognized in some parts of the United States and Europe.
