Are You Part Of The 3.5 Million People Not Paying Tax To Lagos State Government?

Well this is the number of residents currently guilty of tax evasion according to the Chairman of the Lagos Internal Revenue Service, LIRS, Olufolarin Ogunsanwo. 

According to reports in This Day newspaper, he made this known in a statement issued after a meeting with the agency’s staff where he stressed the need for people to pay their taxes as out of 8 Million taxable Lagosians, only 4.5 Million people have been paying taxes.

He has however said within the next 6 months, they will ensure that those who are yet to pay their taxes do so. Mr Ogunsanwo also made it known that LIRS will leverage on the use of technology to ease the process of revenue collection.
