Scandal Hits Judiciary In Ghana As Video Showing Judges Taking Bribes Surfaces!


In what is being seen as the biggest scandal to hit the judiciary, 34 superior court judges have been caught on camera taking bribes and extorting money in Ghana.

According to reports from myjoyonline.com,  it is a case of the cups of corrupt judges getting full and the expose was in a report by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas who stealthily videotaped and audio recorded conversations with suspects or persons acting as agents of suspects.

Many high profile judges fell victim to this ploy and this investigative work titled, ‘Ghana in the Eyes of God – Epic of Injustice’, will be premiered at at the Accra International Conference Centre on September 22, 2015.

So far sources say the bribery scandal has shaken the very foundation of the judiciary, with some high profile judges already putting in their resignation, while others may have to be pushed out. There are also reports that some have been hospitalized, collapsed and the stronger ones are fighting to keep the video out of public viewing.

Meanwhile, the Judicial Council has suspended 22 judges and magistrates with effect from yesterday, the 10th of September.
