Olympic Games 2020, Japan Cannot Guarantee Deadline Of Stadium Project

With 5 years left till the next Olympics, Japan says they cannot guarantee that the main stadium for the 2020 Games will be completed by January that year which is the date requested by the International Olympic Committee. 

Reports indicate that this is because Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, scrapped Japan’s original plan for the main venue after construction costs ballooned to 252 Billion Yen from an initially projected 130 Billion Yen, which provoked public outrage.

Olympic Minister, Toshiaki Endo has made it known that it might be ready by April 2020 after holding talks with the Olympic Committee Vice President, John Coates.

Meanwhile, the Olympic Games, Tokyo 2020 is set to hold from  July 24 to August 9 2020 in Tokyo, Japan.
