NNPC Shuts Down Arepo Pipeline Following Fire Incident From Vandals

After successfully putting out the fire from the explosion at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, pipeline at Arepo, the pipeline has been shut down

The explosion was as a result of vandalism by oil thieves and the NNPC say they will commence repairs once security operatives are available to secure the area.

According to Nasir Imodagbe, spokesperson for the PPMC, the NNPC had to shut down this key pipeline that supplies petroleum products to depots in Lagos, Ibadan, Ore and Ilorin.

However, he says  there will be no negative effect on petrol availability as they still have full depots enough to last those areas for a few days.
