Congrats on the end of the Ramadan fast and Happy Eid il Fitri to all my Muslim readers. Meanwhile to the rest of you wondering where you will go and eat Sallah meat during this holiday period, please calm down as this is the "small" Salah and not the "ram meat" period which will be in September.
For a little background information, Eid al-Fitr is called the festival of breaking of the fast and the Lesser Eid which is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide.
It marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting which is the conclusion of the 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan. It is based on the observation of the new moon by local religious authorities, so the exact day of celebration varies by locality. However, in most countries, it is generally celebrated on the same day as Saudi Arabia.
On the day of Eid, the young and the old gather at mosques to offer prayers thanking Allah (God) for his benevolence and love and the later part of the day is spent in sharing gifts and enjoying feasts.
So I say "Eid Mubarak!" which simply means, HAPPY EID!!
