Its really amazing that an 82 year old woman can be assassinated for whatever reason which is exactly the fate that befell the Iyaloja of Ijebuland, Alhaja Sadia Elewuju.
According to reports, 6 unknown gunmen stormed her residence and macheted their victim, cutting her recklessly. The late octogenerian was a very vocal and influential person who stood her ground on any matter and championed many causes for women especially the market women in the state.
The late Iyaloja was installed by the Awujale of Ijebu Ode, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona and was also very popular in political circles as the house she lived in was given to her by the former Ogun state governor, Gbenga Daniel.
I guess we will still get to know the reason she was murdered in the coming days as events unfold. May her soul rest in peace.
