It has become a very common sight to see frozen turkey and chicken being sold in many shops all around and many people patronize such including myself.
However, the National Agency for Food And Drug Administration And Control, NAFDAC, has come out to strongly warn against the consumption of such frozen poultry.
According to them, it has been discovered that they are causative factor in non- communicable diseases, )NCDs) and resistance to antibiotics.
Although NCDs are non-infectious they can be deadly and some health conditions under NCDs include cancer, kidney disease, and hypertension among others.
Speaking on this issue, NAFDAC Director General, Paul Orhii, urged Nigerians to avoid these imported smuggled chickens and turkeys because they contain contaminants due to the way they are being transported.
Hmnnn....this is actually a serious matter and should be checked because the truth is these frozen food is actually available everywhere so which way forward?
