It was with shock that I heard the passing away of media personality, Sylvester 'Sly' Ojigbede this morning and it has put me in a very pensive mood since then.
Asides the fact that he was a colleague in the industry who anchored the morning show at Classic Fm, he was still a young man with a wife, 2 children and his whole life ahead of him.
I am so sure it will all still be very surreal to his wife. Although reports claim he passed away after a brief illness, the fact remains that none of us expect to die anytime soon.
Yes we know death is a debt everyone has to pay but we always pray it will come at a ripe old age and probably while sleeping hence a peaceful passing coupled with seeing ones children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren succeed before we go.
For the Ojigbede family, my prayer is that God will give them the fortitude to bear this loss and be able to move on with the good memories of Sly and for the rest of us still given another chance at life, let us determine to impact lives positively as we go on because no one really knows when it will be time to go to the great beyond.
