Yay or Nay? Federal High Court Nullifies Restriction Of Movement On Environmental Saturdays

Since I was a little child which was many years ago, there has always been restriction of movement from 7am to 10am on environmental sanitation days which is always the last Saturday of the month.

However, in a shocking twist of events, Justice Mohammed Idris of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has now nullified this restriction of movement.

He describes it as being unlawful adding that it was a violation of the citizens’ right to personal liberty and freedom of movement protected by sections 35 and 41 of the Constitution.

He has hereby voided the power of the Lagos State Government and its agents to arrest any citizen found moving between 7am & 10am during the monthly sanitation which holds every last Saturday of every month.

Hmnnn....what is your take on this development?
