Reports from CNN and BBC confirm that Isreali Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has won a surprise victory in Israel's election which held yesterday.
There had been an initial lead from the centre-left Zionist Union but eventually with almost all votes counted, results indicated that Netanyahu's right-wing Likud Party had a clear lead.
This outcome now gives him a strong chance of forming a right-wing coalition government and also his 4th term in office, making him Israel's longest-serving prime minster.
Reacting to his win, Mr Netanyahu described the vote as a great victory for Likud, which had trailed the Zionist Union in opinion polls in the run-up to the election.
Meanwhile, Zionist Union's Isaac Herzog has already called the incumbent leader and congratulated him.
