NAFDAC Gives Alert On High Rate Of Fake Children Products In The Market


Mothers nationwide are being called upon by the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, to check and verify the authenticity of products before purchase.

Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN,  Chief Legal Officer of the agency, Umar Shamaki, said that enforcement officers in the agency are clamping down on importers and sellers of unwholesome baby and children products.

He made it known that recently, a Chinese national was arraigned for the importation of counterfeit diapers. Mr Shamaki said people have now devised new means of packaging their products so it looks authentic.

Parents are encouraged to check NAFDAC registration number, dates markings, date of manufacture, expiry date, and batch number.
