I seriously hate writing this kind of news but it must be told to serve as a wake up call to people everywhere that child sexual abuse is REAL and must be STOPPED!!
According to reports from the Sun newspaper, a 29 year old man has confessed to the police that he raped a 7 year old girl who lives in the same compound with his family.
This unfortunate incident happened at Okokomaiko area of Lagos State and Uchenna who is being detained by the Okoko Police Station is blaming his wife for his dastardly act.
He claims his wife bewitched him by allowing the girl come stay at their house while her mother went out.
Let me stop at this point and say as parents we really need to be very careful about where we keep our children when we are not around.
Uchenna said the little girl, Deborah climbed unto his laps as he was watching TV and before he knew what was happening he started to touch her and she seemed to enjoy it so he continued until he eventually had carnal knowledge of her.
This is really disturbing and is just one among many cases of abuse that seem to be springing up every day. Parents and childminders, please let us be very watchful and also create an awareness in our children so they know what to look out for.
One of the major basic rules we need to tell our children is that for NO reason should anyone touch their private body parts!
