I guess racism continues to be a major issue for blacks in America as there has been a wild reaction over the recently released list of Oscar nominees this week.
The Academy Awards which was rebranded as The Oscars in 2013 is an annual American awards ceremony that honors cinematic achievements in the film industry and was first presented in 1929.
However, the 2015 Academy Award nominees were announced this earlier this week and there has been a lot of complains at the fact that there were very few blacks on the list.
A perfect example is actor, David Oyelowo, who has received a lot of praise from other award platforms but was not nominated in the ‘Best Actor Category’ for movie ‘Selma’.

The director of the movie, Ava Duvernay, has also received a lot of awards for the movie but she was also snubbed by the Oscars.
