If you are one of those people who has been looking forward to having a prepaid electricity meter, there seems to be hope in sight as the Chairman, Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, Sam Amadi, has issued an ultimatum to Distribution Companies (DISCOs), to deliver prepaid meters to electricity consumers.
He gave a two-week compliance deadline during a meeting with electricity distribution companies and stakeholders on Aggregate Technical Commercial and Collection Loss Studies in Abuja.
Mr Amadi has also warned that failure to abide with his warning would attract sanctions by the commission as after two weeks they will be conducting public hearings to ascertain whether all those who have paid for CAPMI meters have been given meters.

I guess its goodbye to estimated crazy bills that some of us get although the downside to the prepaid meter is, you have to shine your eye well well and be more prudent in the way you use light as it will become pay as you go...Lol!
