Nigeria is really keeping up with
the times and allowing technology gain a foothold in important events. First it
was the computer based JAMB exams, then the launch of the Electronic National
ID Card that will double as an ATM card.
The latest is that National Youth
Service Corps (NYSC) members will now get their call up letters online after
registering with the NYSC website!
It will kick off with the 2014 Batch
C set to be deployed this November and this was made known by the
Director-General, NYSC, Brig-Gen. Johnson Olawumi when he paid a visit to the
2014 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 corps members, at the NYSC Orientation Camp,
Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos.
What this means is that when it is time to go to camp, a corp member would
be able to sit at home, register and print his call-up letter online.
This comes just after the Directorate announced that the 2014 Batch B Orientation programme will last for 2days as opposed to the usual 21 days in line with Federal Government's efforts to curb the spread of the Ebola Virus.
