American Actor Leonardo DiCaprio Now United Nations Messenger Of Peace

Just as we are seeing Nigerian entertainers making a foray into the political scene, American actor Leonardo DiCaprio has shown that you could be in the entertainment business and also make a lot of sense and impact in world issues.
He has been bestowed as a United Nations Messenger of Peace by the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon as a new voice for climate advocacy.
Yesterday, Leonardo DiCaprio addressed world leaders who came for the United Nations Climate Summit urging them to take action and address the greatest challenge to human existence which is the issue of Climate Change.

He is also known as an advocate for this cause over the years and even has The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation which he established since 1998 to promote awareness between humanity and the natural world.

As an actor, he has been nominated for 5 Academy awards and 10 Golden Globe Awards where he won 2 awards for Best Actor In A Drama and Best Actor In A Musical/Comedy. 

Some of the movies he is known for include, Titanic, Blood Diamond, The Departed, Revolutionary Road, Shutter Island, Inception and Django Unchained.
