With 216 goals to his credit,English footballer and striker, Wayne Rooney has been appointed as the new captain of Manchester United by the manager of the team,Louis Van Gaal with Darren Fletcher as Vice-captain.
Following their 2-1 win over
Valencia in a friendly played at Old Trafford yesterday, Van Gaal confirmed
his decision to pick Rooney.
He said Rooney always displays a great attitude in everything he does and his professionalism and attitude to training have been impressive.
28 year old Rooney joined Manchester United in 2004
from Everton and has expressed his delight to be given the captain’s armband saying its a huge honor for him and his family.
