Ebola Scare! British Airways Stops Flights

As the reality of the dreaded Ebola Virus sets in with more people being diagnosed positive for the virus,British Airways has temporarily suspended its flights to Sierra Leone and Liberia for the rest of the month.

They confirmed today that they are grounding their flights until 31st of August because of the deteriorating public health situation in both countries.

A spokesman for the airline said the safety of customers, crew and ground teams is their top priority and they will keep the route under constant review in the coming weeks.

He said customers with tickets on those routes are being offered a range of options including a full refund and the ability to rebook their flights to a later date.

British Airways now joins Emirates Airline who since last week have cancelled flights to Ebola hit countries.

The West African nations of Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia are dealing with the worst Ebola outbreak ever recorded since the virus was first detected in 1976.

Unfortunately, a handful of cases have also been reported in Nigeria and at this rate, flights to and from here might just be stopped as well which won't be funny as this is summer period when most people often travel to and fro.

May God have mercy on us all!!
