I knew it was just a matter of time before banks started to charge us again for withdrawing from other banks ATM.It was stopped in 2012 and I saw it as a welcome development.
However,it is being re-introduced again but at a lower rate of N65 as opposed to the former N100.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has
directed all deposit money banks in the country to re-introduce this charge of N65 per
transaction when you withdraw from other banks ATM effective from September 1,
2014.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Director,Banking and Payment System Department,CBN,Dipo Fatokun.
Well before you vex totally,the good news is that this N65 will be charged on the fourth withdrawal from other banks ATM. What this simply means is that the first three withdrawals are free but you will be charged from the fourth withdrawal.
