I honestly hope something positive happens as regards this unending fuel scarcity as the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has raised alarm over the alleged diversion of trucks of petrol meant for Abuja and other major cities to unknown destinations, where they are then sold at high prices.
However, in response to these allegations, some major marketers and depot owners, who spoke to This Day newspapers on the condition of anonymity insist it is the other way round and blame the NNPC for the diversion.
They allege that the corporation is actually the one directing most of the trucks that load petrol to other destinations as well as accusing officials of the Petroleum Equalisation Fund, PEF, at the depots of collecting between N70,000 and N100,000 bribe per truck to aid this diversion.
Why all this back and forth? Who is telling the truth and who is lying? Can they just please make fuel available nationwide?
