Man Sues Etihad Airline For Seating Him Beside Orobo Passenger

A man in Australia is suing Abu Dhabi-based airline Etihad for injuries due to sitting beside an overweight passenger during a flight from Dubai to Sydney.

According to reports from CNN, James Bassos says he was required to "contort and twist" his body to avoid contact with his neighbor, who coughed frequently and "expelled fluid from his mouth,".

He said he had to spend a long stretch of time in a position which he claims caused a back injury and aggravation of an existing back condition.

However, Etihad is trying to have the case thrown out as the airline says it's not unusual to be seated next to obese or coughing passengers but Brisbane district judge, Fleur Kingham has refused and ordered medical checks on James Bassos.

Hmnnnn....what does this mean for obese passengers?will they have to start booking extraseats or they should not fly anymore? Na wa o!
