Disneyland Bans Selfie Sticks For Safety Reasons


World popular entertainment center and amusement park, Disneyland, has banned selfie sticks from their grounds.

Although the long arm of a selfie stick helps users take a better self-portrait, but there are fears that they could cause injury if somebody was accidentally struck with one during a photo opportunity.


According to Kim Prunty, a spokeswoman for the company, it has become a growing safety concern for both guests and cast as its long arm can extend far outside the carriages and could come into contact with a ride's mechanism.

 The ban takes effect at Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California, along with other Disney-run theme parks in the U.S. Also, Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland.

Meanwhile, Selfie sticks are already banned at the New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Kentucky Derby, English Premier League soccer stadiums and London's National Gallery.
