Fugitive Cult Leader Wanted For 59 Counts Of Sexual Assault Finally Caught By Police In Brazil

American fugitive cult leader, Victor Arden Barnard, who claimed to be a pastor has finally been caught and arrested by Brazilian authorities this weekend.

The 53 year old was wanted for 59 counts of sexual assaults in Minnesota for allegedly sexually abusing 2 young girls who were members of his church.

The manhunt began after a 2 year investigation into allegations from some women about his alleged conduct while he was preaching to a religious group in Finlayson, Minnesota.

Victor Barnard was also featured on the United States Marshal's 15 Most Wanted List along with a $25,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. He was also wanted for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

According to Ruth Johnson, a former member of Victor Barnard's River Road Fellowship, he always inspired his members with his charisma and apparent devotion to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

However, things became complicated when he suddenly set up a camp in the rural area and convinced some members of his congregation to hand over their first born daughters to live with him where he abused some between the ages of 12 to 22.
